After a summer of searching, our 100 Smiles campaign ended in style last week as we celebrated the most inspirational people in our region.
Over the past five months, we’ve been asking the folk of Yorkshire to nominate those who go above and beyond to make others happy. You didn’t let us down. We received a hugely diverse range, from foster parents, charity groups and festival organisers to prison advisors and even a devoted lollipop lady! Our 100 Happy Makers were invited to our fabulous tipi party at the Three Acres Inn and Restaurant where they could deservedly let their hair down.
On the night, we recognised five exemplary Happy Makers. All 100 nominees are truly fantastic so it was an incredibly hard task to pick just five.
After a rigorous judging process, the chosen five ( clockwise from above) were Irene Houson and Molly Johnson (St George’s Crypt, Leeds), Ellie Mae Batty (TADS Barnsley), Sandra Copnall (Breast Cancer Haven), Anne Hart (Oxspring Primary School, Sheffield) and Mandy Taylor on behalf of Tobias Garbutt (The Principle Trust, Skipton). Congratulations to them!
The 100 Smiles event was a beautiful occasion and a fitting end to the campaign.
We’d like to say a massive thank you to all of the 100 Smile Makers who came, ate, relaxed and partied at our celebration and to emphasise once again how much their stories touched and inspired us.
Huge thanks to our friends at Hydra Creative, PG Designs, Gray Starling Designs, Maria’s Cakes, Move It Like Friday, Cream and The Three Acres for their help and support in making this event possible.
